Overview
In this role you will contribute to the signalling design for rail infrastructure in Birmingham, delivering detailed design production checks and complex signalling tasks. You will work within a rail-specific team to meet standards and design specifications, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimise outcomes. You will mentor junior staff and assist with risk assessment of designs to ensure safety and reliability. Responsibilities
- Undertake design production/checking of signalling detail design per standards and Signalling Design Specifications
- Perform complex railway signal design tasks to relevant standards, industry codes and practices
- Interact with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimum outcome
- Provide functional support and guidance to junior Design staff for all aspects of Signalling Design
- Assist in the risk assessment of planned and completed designs
Key requirements
- Engineering Degree/HND/HNC
- IRSE Signalling Designer Licence and Verifier licence will be advantageous
- Strong and effective communication and presentation skills
- Experienced in Scheme Plans, LAP, Specifications, SSI Wiring, Fringe Designs
- SSI (Westlock) data & Control tables Design experience will be desirable
- WTS- Westlock trackside system knowledge will be advantageous
