Overview

As Communications Community Manager, you will shape how the organisation speaks to its audience and wider community. You act as the central voice, guiding tone, engagement, and relationships across members and new audiences. You will manage communications across email, newsletters, PR, digital content, and social channels, ensuring a cohesive, authentic connection to the organisation’s identity. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on writing, website updates and community responsiveness to grow and sustain an engaged community in a cultural destination.

Responsibilities

  • Own and develop the overall community communications approach
  • Manage communications across a growing email database, including newsletters and updates
  • Develop clear communications for different audiences and customer journey stages
  • Protect and evolve a distinctive tone of voice across channels
  • Manage inbound community inquiries and respond appropriately
  • Build genuine engagement with existing members and new audiences
  • Coordinate website content and keep information current and engaging
  • Support social media communications and content where appropriate
  • Collaborate with PR and other partners to maintain a consistent narrative
  • Develop communications around events, programming, partnerships and key moments
  • Use audience insight to understand resonance and continuously improve communications
  • Become a trusted internal authority on organisational communication with the community

Key requirements

  • Experienced communications or community professional with audience-building experience around culture and belonging
  • Experience in hospitality, nightlife, music, arts and culture, entertainment or membership brands is a plus
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a standalone role
  • Strong written communication and tone of voice development
  • Experience managing sizeable customer or membership databases and email communications
  • Instinctive understanding of culture and contemporary audiences
  • Experience with newsletters, website content and digital communications
  • Understanding of PR and social media, not necessarily a pure PR or social specialist
