Overview

As UK Service Operations Director, you will lead the transformation and growth of Carrier’s Commercial HVAC and Residential Service in the UK, driving profitability, customer satisfaction, and service innovation. You will work with European leaders to boost productivity, renewals, and recurring revenue while expanding digital and connected services. The role combines strategic influence, financial accountability, and hands-on leadership across multi-site operations. Responsibilities

  • Oversee UK Service business performance against revenue, margin, EBIT, cash flow and profitability targets
  • Own annual budget, forecasting and operational planning for Service
  • Lead continuous improvement to elevate efficiency, productivity and profitability
  • Ensure standardized processes and high-quality service delivery
  • Collaborate with Service Sales Director to accelerate growth and recurring revenue
  • Implement and adopt connected/digital service solutions to enhance value
  • Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions as needed
  • Develop plans to improve pricing, margins, and overall performance
  • Build senior executive relationships with key customers as sponsor for strategic accounts
  • Coach and develop the Service organisation, including talent acquisition and succession planning
  • Promote safety, ethics, compliance and operational excellence across teams
  • Ensure compliance with policies, health and safety and UK law
  • Collaborate with regional/European leadership on strategic initiatives and continuous improvement

Key requirements

  • Significant leadership experience in a service, maintenance, engineering, or technical operations environment
  • Experience managing large operational teams in a multi-site organisation
  • Strong commercial/financial management including budgeting, forecasting, P&L
  • Proven track record leading operational transformation and continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in building high-performing teams through coaching and mentorship
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication
  • Analytical and data-driven problem-solving approach
  • Experience with ERP and field service systems such as SAP or ServiceMax
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
