Overview
In this role you will support Marsh McLennan’s Belfast Legal team by drafting, reviewing and negotiating client agreements, while conducting legal research and maintaining templates and precedents. You will help drive process improvements, train colleagues and contribute to cross-functional projects. The position offers hybrid working with in-office collaboration at least three days a week in Belfast and exposure to a broad range of commercial contract matters. Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate client agreements and related documents
- Perform legal research and provide updates to the team
- Develop internal know-how and precedents, maintain templates, and implement process improvements
- Support the wider Legal team on internal projects and various contractual matters
- Develop and assist with internal legal training and business updates
Key requirements
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong drafting and negotiation capabilities
- Good commercial acumen with ability to deliver pragmatic solutions
- Experience in fast-paced environments with multiple deadlines
- Ability to prioritise and judge relative importance of tasks
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with data protection legislation and DPAs is a plus
- Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge to ensure compliance
- Proactive with ownership of matters and initiative
- Team player with collaborative mindset
- Understanding of Marsh McLennan’s business offerings
- IT skills including Microsoft Office; experience with legal tools a bonus
- Enthusiastic about developing a long-term career in commercial/contracts law
- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role
- LLB or equivalent legal qualification
