Overview
As Senior Counsel, Commercial and Licensing at Condé Nast, you will support revenue teams by negotiating and drafting ad and marketing contracts across traditional, digital, programmatic, and branded content. You’ll advise on regulatory compliance and help resolve deal issues with a pragmatic, commercial approach. You will liaise with production, support training on advertising disclosures, and ensure campaigns meet global guidelines across UK and UAE. This role offers cross-border exposure, shaping how Condé Nast monetizes content while upholding legal standards.

Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate revenue-generating advertising and marketing contracts, including traditional and programmatic ads, talent agreements, sponsorships, and events/activations
- Advise on legal queries and contractual compliance for media and digital advertising and custom content across digital, print, video, social and experiential
- Negotiate standard terms with advertising clients and talent agencies
- Manage legal documentation for events including venue, talent, sponsorship, and barter arrangements
- Interpret and apply Condé Nast Global Advertising Guidelines to campaigns in the UK and UAE
- Share knowledge with commercial teams through presentations and training on advertising disclosures, DMCC, CAP codes and ASA guidance (including influencer requirements)
- Coordinate with production teams for branded content deals and events and improve workflows
- Stay updated on consumer laws related to advertising, marketing, AI, and subscriptions
Key requirements
- Legally qualified in England & Wales
- 2-4 years post-qualification experience
- Strong experience in commercial contracts in either private practice or in-house, ideally in media
- IP law experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, cross-time-zone (US, UK, Middle East) environments
- Ability to present legal advice in a pragmatic, commercial manner
