Finance Manager – Nigeria/Ghana

Overview

In this international Finance Manager role, you partner with leaders to drive financial performance and sustainable growth across multiple African markets from Nigeria or Ghana. You’ll oversee reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls while guiding cash flow, FX exposure, and working capital. You’ll deliver insightful analysis, support pricing and expansion decisions with modelling, and lead finance teams in two countries as part of the regional management team. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role in a FMCG environment with a strong emphasis on partnership and governance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to drive financial performance and sustainable growth
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
• Ensure compliance with local accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements
• Manage cash flow, foreign exchange exposure, and working capital optimization
• Deliver insightful business analysis and performance monitoring
• Support pricing, investment, and expansion decisions through financial modelling
• Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures
• Lead audit processes and coordinate with external advisors
• Supervise and develop finance teams across both countries
• Contribute actively to the regional management team

Key requirements

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar field
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is a plus
• Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in a Finance Manager or equivalent role
• Strong exposure to multinational environments and multiple African markets
• Experience within distribution, FMCG, retail, or trading sectors
• Strong understanding of business partnering and performance management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent English required
