A well-established care provider in Scotland is seeking an experienced Clinical Deputy Manager to join their medium-sized nursing home in the Port Glasgow area. The home is warm, welcoming and purpose-built, providing high-quality care in a supportive environment. The successful candidate will join an established management team and play a key role in maintaining excellent standards of clinical care, governance and resident well-being.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RGN) with an active NMC PIN – essential.
- Previous senior nursing, clinical leadership or Deputy Manager experience within a nursing/care home setting.
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance, medication management, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with care planning, clinical documentation, auditing and quality assurance.
- Strong leadership, communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
- Good IT skills, including electronic care planning systems.
- Passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Support and deputise for the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home.
- Provide hands-on clinical leadership, including regular nursing shifts.
- Lead, supervise and develop the nursing and care team.
- Oversee care planning, clinical documentation, medication management and clinical governance.
- Complete audits, monitor incidents and accidents, and drive continuous improvement.
- Support safe staffing, rota management, recruitment, training and performance management.
- Liaise with residents, families, GPs, commissioners and other healthcare professionals.
- Support admissions, safeguarding, complaints and investigations as required.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Participate in management meetings, service development and the on-call rota where required.
