An exciting vacancy has become available for a Ward Manager ( Band 7) for an 12 bedded Surgical Ward . This includes elective and emergency pathway patients, under a wide variety of surgical specialities. This leadership role is essential to maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and to provide a pivotal leadership role., The role is essential to provide this ward area with a high profile, accessible and responsive leader, accountable for clinical staff, service, governance, standards, safety and quality.
- Accountable for own actions in accordance with Code of Professional Conduct. Will contribute towards corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
- Highly developed communication skills enabling maintenance of high quality service and ensuring timely management and resolution of unexpected events and situations. Undertake bleep-holder responsibilities for the area’s on a regular basis.
- A knowledgeable team leader and resource for staff, advising on national, local and Trust policy and procedures/guidelines, ensuring that clinical governance is embedded in practice. Will support staff and users in service and policy development within a defined area/specialty.
- Responsible for identifying and assessing complex clinical and non-clinical issues, implementing resolutions and monitoring/auditing outcomes.
