Interim Financial Accountant – Financial Services – ACA Qualified

Gresham Hunt are working with a leading UK Financial Services firm who are pursuing an ambitious growth strategy. They’re looking for a Financial Accountant to join a small, excellent finance team and play a key role in the financial control and reporting of the business.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified accountant to broaden their commercial exposure within a fast-paced, PE-backed environment.

The Role:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting the month-end close process
• Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring accuracy of the general ledger
• Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and liaison with external auditors
• Supporting VAT returns, tax compliance, and other regulatory reporting requirements
• Helping to maintain and improve financial controls & processes as the business grows
• Partnering with wider finance team to support ad hoc projects and reporting requests
• Contributing to system and process improvements as the finance function matures

The candidate:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with 2–3 years’ post-qualification experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-changing, growing business without a fixed playbook
• A proactive, hands-on approach candidate who is happy getting into the detail
• A clear communicator, confident liaising across finance and the wider business
• Motivated by the pace and opportunity that comes with private equity ownership
