About the Role:

Westminster Commercial Finance is seeking a highly organised and analytical graduate to join the business as an ESG Risk & Data Analyst.

This is an internal research and data-focused position for someone interested in sustainability, corporate information, business trends and data analysis.

You will help collect, organise and analyse publicly available information relating to companies, industries and wider ESG developments. Your work will support internal research, business intelligence, reporting and operational projects.

The role does not involve providing financial advice, making investment recommendations, assessing customers for regulated financial products or carrying out regulated financial activities. Instead, the focus is on research, data quality, ESG information and internal business analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

You will work with colleagues across the business to develop reliable information and analysis for internal use.

Your responsibilities will include:

Researching publicly available information relating to companies, industries, markets and sustainability developments.

Collecting ESG, corporate, operational and business information from company websites, annual reports, sustainability publications, government sources and other publicly available materials.

Maintaining structured internal datasets covering ESG and business-related information.

Reviewing datasets for accuracy, completeness, consistency and unusual patterns.

Comparing company and sector information to identify relevant trends and developments.

Conducting desk-based research into environmental, social and governance topics.

Monitoring developments in areas such as climate policy, corporate sustainability, responsible business practices and ESG reporting.

Preparing clear internal research summaries, presentations and data reports.

Supporting the development of internal ESG dashboards, databases and reporting tools.

Helping improve processes for collecting, organising and storing non-financial business information.

Identifying gaps or inconsistencies in information and conducting additional research where appropriate.

Supporting internal sustainability initiatives and ESG-related projects.

Preparing background research for internal meetings, presentations and business projects.

Working with colleagues to improve the accessibility and usefulness of internal data.

Assisting with ad hoc research, data and reporting projects.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for a graduate who is naturally curious, highly organised and comfortable working with large amounts of information.

You should have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, Sustainability, Environmental Studies or a related subject.

ESG Investment Strategies & Compliance Certification

An interest in ESG, sustainability, business research and data.

Strong analytical and investigative skills.

The ability to interpret information from multiple sources.

Excellent attention to detail.

A structured approach to organising information and maintaining accurate records.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

The ability to identify patterns, discrepancies and emerging trends within datasets.

The ability to manage several research assignments and deadlines.

An interest in developing technical skills in ESG data, business intelligence and sustainability reporting.

A willingness to learn and develop within a commercial environment.

Previous experience in research, data analysis, sustainability, business analysis, finance administration or a similar area would be useful but is not essential.
