Do you enjoy keeping things in order, paying attention to detail, and being part of a busy team?

About Kara Healthcare

At Kara Healthcare, we’re looking for a friendly and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our finance team at our Head Office in Leicester.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to build their career in finance and gain valuable experience within a growing healthcare organisation. You’ll work alongside our wider finance team, supporting the day-to-day running of the accounts function and helping to make sure everything is accurate and up to date.

At Kara Healthcare, we provide high-quality dementia, nursing, residential, and respite care.

Behind our care teams is a dedicated support team that helps our homes run smoothly. Our finance team plays an important part in this, making sure invoices are processed, payments are made, records are accurate, and our teams have the financial support they need.

We’re looking for someone who is keen to learn, takes pride in their work, and wants to grow with the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll support the finance team with a range of day-to-day accounting tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing purchase invoices and ensuring they are correctly recorded.
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Processing payments and maintaining accurate payment records.
  • Carrying out bank and account reconciliations.
  • Helping to monitor outstanding invoices and payments.
  • Responding to finance-related queries from colleagues and suppliers.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Assisting with month-end processes.
  • Supporting the preparation of financial reports and information.
  • Filing and organising financial documentation.
  • Assisting with general finance administration.
  • Working with care home and head office teams to resolve financial queries.
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks when required.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, organised, and keen to learn.

You don’t necessarily need years of experience — we’re more interested in finding someone with the right attitude and willingness to develop.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an accounts, finance, or administration role.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Confidence working with numbers.
  • Good Excel and computer skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • The ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
  • A positive and practical approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to work independently while also being part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your finance skills.

An AAT qualification, or willingness to work towards one, would be advantageous.

Experience within healthcare, social care, or a multi-site organisation would be helpful but is not essential.

Why Join Kara Healthcare?

This is a great opportunity to join a growing organisation where you’ll have the chance to learn, develop, and build your career in finance.

You’ll work alongside an experienced team and gain exposure to different areas of finance, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills and take on more responsibility as you progress.

In Return, We Offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • Full-time, permanent employment
  • A friendly and supportive working environment
  • Training and professional development opportunities
  • Opportunities to develop your finance career
  • Support towards relevant professional qualifications where appropriate
  • A varied role with plenty of opportunity to learn
  • The chance to be part of a growing healthcare organisation
  • Supportive colleagues and a collaborative team environment
  • Opportunities for career progression within Kara Healthcare

At Kara Healthcare, we believe every colleague plays an important role in our success. We’re committed to creating a supportive environment where people can learn, develop, and make a real difference.
