Building Fabric Manager – Birmingham – Global Facilities Management Organisation: Healthcare

CBW Staffing Solutions are currently hiring for an experienced and motivated Building Fabric Manager for our facilities management client’s healthcare contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building fabric, estates and facilities management, with the ability to lead maintenance delivery across a complex healthcare environment.

This is a site-based opportunity supporting a major healthcare estate in Birmingham, with responsibility for ensuring buildings and associated fabric services are maintained to a safe, compliant and high standard.

Package:

  • Competitive salary up to £59,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • Core hours are Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)
  • Participation in an ‘out of hours’ on call rota (to be confirmed)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of building fabric maintenance across the healthcare estate.
  • Oversee planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Manage directly employed staff, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure maintenance activities meet statutory and health & safety requirements.
  • Monitor the quality and performance of maintenance works.
  • Support condition surveys, lifecycle works and improvement projects.
  • Assist with budget control, procurement and contractor management.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure works are fully auditable.
  • Carry out inspections, audits and health & safety checks.
  • Respond to emergency and urgent maintenance requirements when required.
  • Deputise for the Head of Estates when required.

Requirements:

  • Relevant City & Guilds qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience within building fabric, estates, maintenance or facilities management.
  • Strong understanding of building maintenance and statutory compliance.
  • Experience managing staff, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Good knowledge of health & safety requirements.
  • Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • Healthcare experience would be advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
