About the Role

As an OT Cyber Security Architect, you will:

  • Architect and design secure OT environments aligned with industry good practice, recognised standards and regulatory requirements, including IEC 62443 and NIS/NIS2.
  • Translate cyber risk assessments into target-state architectures, security control designs and pragmatic implementation roadmaps.
  • Define secure integration patterns between IT and OT environments, including network segmentation, access control, monitoring and resilience capabilities.
  • Lead OT security transformation workstreams covering areas such as secure remote access, vulnerability management, protective monitoring and operational resilience.
  • Advise CISOs, CIOs, operational leaders and engineering teams on OT cyber risk, resilience, regulatory obligations and investment priorities.
  • Support technology selection, deployment and optimisation while ensuring security controls are appropriately designed to minimise operational disruption.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to solve complex client challenges.
  • Contribute to the development of reusable security tools, playbooks, methodologies and guidance.

Technical Environment

You will work across complex IT and OT environments, helping organisations strengthen cyber resilience, secure critical systems and develop practical security architectures that can be safely deployed in operational settings.

Experience may include:

  • OT and industrial control systems, including ICS, SCADA and OT network environments.
  • OT security architecture, including network segmentation, zoning, secure remote access, monitoring, logging and telemetry.
  • Security frameworks and standards such as:
  • IEC 62443
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF)
  • NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF)
  • ISO 27001
  • NIS/NIS2
  • Related regulatory and industry requirements.
  • OT security monitoring and tooling platforms such as Nozomi, Claroty, Dragos, Microsoft Defender for IoT, or equivalent technologies.
  • Architecture, modelling and delivery tools used to define target-state designs, implementation roadmaps and transformation plans.

Key Responsibilities

You will take ownership of complex OT security architecture challenges and provide technically robust, commercially practical recommendations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing OT security risks and translating findings into actionable architecture decisions.
  • Designing secure OT architectures for critical and safety-sensitive environments.
  • Developing target operating models, security control frameworks and implementation roadmaps.
  • Designing secure IT/OT integration and segmentation architectures.
  • Advising on OT security monitoring, detection and response capabilities.
  • Supporting vulnerability management and secure remote-access strategies.
  • Assessing and selecting appropriate OT security technologies.
  • Working with engineering and operational teams to ensure security controls are practical and do not unnecessarily disrupt operations.
  • Engaging with senior security, technology and operational stakeholders.
  • Communicating complex technical and cyber-risk concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Supporting the development of internal cyber security propositions, methodologies, tools and reusable assets.
