A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Operations Manager to join a well-established, high-performing site within the heavy process sector. This is a senior position within the site management team, responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the facility, leading a team of around 20+ direct/indirect reports. Reporting into the Plant Manager, you will play a key role in driving a strong safety culture, operational performance and team development—while working closely with Maintenance to maximise availability and reliability.

Non-Negotiable Requirements



  • Supervisory / leadership experience within an Operations + Engineering function (step-up considered if you’re already deputising)

  • Background in one of the following (or similar heavy industrial environments)

  • Strong working knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation

  • Experience with safe systems of work, including Safety Rules / Permit-to-Work

  • Essential Requirements for the Operations Manager Qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline

  • Detailed knowledge of process plant associated with steam-powered electricity generation (or similar)

  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to manage third parties/contractors effectively

  • Resilient, hands-on, performance-driven approach with the ability to influence at all levels


Desirable Requirements



  • IOSH / NEBOSH

  • Experience within mass burn Energy from Waste (EFW)

  • Proven experience delivering change programmes that improve operational/business performance
