Are you a finance professional who enjoys working with numbers and making sure things are right?
Were looking for a Finance Officer to join our Finance team and play an important role in making sure income is accurately processed and financial records are kept up to date.
Youll be working with colleagues across the business to investigate queries, resolve discrepancies and make sure payments are allocated correctly. Its a great opportunity for someone who is organised, customer focused and enjoys solving problems as part of a busy team.
Please note: This is a Fixed term contract ending in December 2027

What youll be doing
Accurately process income, including rents, service charges and other payments, across our Housing Management and Finance systems
Make sure transactions are completed within agreed deadlines and service standards
Reconcile transactions and investigate any discrepancies or queries
Investigate unknown receipts by working with banks, internal teams, DWP, allpay and other relevant organisations
Maintain and clear suspense accounts, making sure outstanding items are resolved promptly
Process tenant account adjustments and other financial transactions as required
Raise invoices, monitor debtor accounts and support effective credit control by sending statements and reminders
Work closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business to improve processes and find more efficient ways of working
Provide support and cover across the wider Finance team when needed
Deliver a high-quality service while keeping customer service, value for money and continuous improvement at the heart of what you do

What were looking for:
Experience of working within a finance team, ideally in a high-volume transaction processing environment
Good knowledge of financial systems and transaction processing
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to deadlines
Experience of reconciling financial information and investigating discrepancies
A customer-focused approach and commitment to providing a high-quality service
Good communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues and external contacts
Ability to analyse information, identify problems and use your initiative to find solutions
Strong organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks
A team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement
Experience using the NEC housing management system would be desirable
