Job Description:

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading manufacturing organisation on the appointment of an HSE Compliance Officer.

Working as part of the wider Compliance team, you will gain exposure across H&S, environmental management and sustainability, with ongoing professional development and support towards further HSE qualifications available.

In your new role:

  • Support compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, internal policies and industry standards
  • Develop and review risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work and supporting HSE documentation
  • Carry out compliance assessments and identify opportunities to improve HSE performance
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and appropriate corrective actions
  • Support environmental compliance, including regulatory requirements, licences and associated reporting
  • Collate and analyse environmental and sustainability performance data
  • Support initiatives to measure and reduce carbon emissions and improve environmental performance
  • Liaise with relevant regulatory and external bodies on environmental compliance matters
  • Deliver employee inductions, skills training and refresher training
  • Work closely with operational teams and other departments on HSE and compliance matters
  • Maintain accurate records relating to compliance activities, investigations and corrective actions
  • Support continuous improvement across Health, Safety and Environmental performance

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Business or another relevant discipline OR relevant experience
  • Practical understanding of Health & Safety, environmental compliance or risk management
  • Ability to identify workplace hazards and assess risk
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work across different departments and operational teams
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider team
  • Flexibility to travel between operational sites as required (Enniskillen/Dungannon)

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don’t worry if you don’t):

  • NEBOSH Certificate, Diploma or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
  • IOSH membership
  • First Aid qualification
  • Previous experience within manufacturing or another operational environment
  • Exposure to environmental compliance, sustainability or carbon reduction initiatives
