Description
We are currently recruiting a Lecturer & Programme Leader – Refrigeration & Air Conditioning to support Northumberland College on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and F-Gas professional to join the college for the start of the new academic year and help develop the next generation of skilled engineers.
The Role
As a Lecturer & Programme Leader – Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across refrigeration and air conditioning programmes, helping learners develop the technical knowledge and practical skills required for careers within the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering Refrigeration & Air Conditioning lessons to FE students
- Teaching City & Guilds Level 2 and Level 3 programmes
- Delivering practical and theoretical learning across refrigeration, air conditioning and F-Gas related topics
- Planning, preparing and assessing learning in line with curriculum requirements
- Supporting learners with target setting, progress reviews and achievement of qualifications
- Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate student records
- Promoting safe working practices and industry standards within workshop and classroom environments
- Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and professional standards within the classroom
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or a related discipline, including F-Gas certification
- Level 2 Maths and English (or equivalent)
- A Level 3 Assessor qualification (essential)
- A Level 5 teaching qualification is highly desirable
- Candidates with a minimum Level 3 teaching qualification (such as PTLLS) will also be considered
- Strong industry experience within Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
- Experience delivering practical and theoretical training
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to motivate and support learners to achieve their goals
- Enhanced DBS Child Workforce and Child Barred List check (or willingness to obtain)
