Freight Forwarder
Belfast City Centre
£35,000 – £40,000 + Pension + Benefits
A small, specialist team. The backing of a larger group. And a working environment where you’re trusted to get on with your job.
If you’re an experienced Freight Forwarder who enjoys the operational side of the industry but would prefer to work somewhere with less bureaucracy, more autonomy and a genuinely positive team environment, this could be worth exploring.
We’re working with an established freight forwarding business in Belfast City Centre that offers something a little different.
You’ll be joining a small, experienced and close-knit team, operating as part of a much larger, established group of companies.
That means the stability, resources and support of a larger organisation, without losing the personal, collaborative working environment that comes with being part of a smaller operation.
And importantly, this isn’t a business where people are micromanaged.
The culture is professional, supportive and built around trust. People know their jobs, take responsibility for their work and are given the freedom to get on with it.
There’s no unnecessary interference or someone constantly looking over your shoulder. Just an experienced team working together to deliver a good service to their customers.
The Role:
- Managing import and export freight movements from booking through to delivery.
- Coordinating shipments across Sea, Road and Air Freight, depending on experience.
- Taking ownership of customer requirements and day-to-day operational queries.
- Liaising with shipping lines, carriers, hauliers, agents and overseas partners.
- Managing bookings, documentation and shipment updates.
- Identifying and resolving operational issues to keep freight moving.
- Building strong working relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Working independently while supporting the wider team when required.
What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to speak with experienced Freight Forwarders who are confident in their ability and enjoy taking responsibility for their work.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience within Freight Forwarding, ideally with a strong Ocean Freight background.
- Experience managing import and/or export shipments.
- Good knowledge of shipping lines, carrier procedures and freight forwarding systems.
- A strong understanding of the end-to-end freight forwarding process.
- Confidence dealing directly with customers, suppliers and operational partners.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and resolve problems.
- A positive, professional attitude and a willingness to contribute to a small team.
What’s in It for You?
- £35,000 – £40,000 salary, depending on experience.
- Company pension and additional benefits.
- A positive, professional and collaborative working culture.
- No micromanagement – you’ll be trusted to manage your responsibilities.
- Genuine autonomy and ownership of your work.
- A varied operational role with exposure to different freight movements.
- A supportive environment where colleagues work together rather than against each other.
- The opportunity to become a valued member of an established Belfast operation.

Not everyone wants to work in a large corporate office with layers of management, unnecessary meetings and constant oversight.
If that sounds appealing, we’d welcome a confidential conversation.
