Are you a Support Worker with experience in complex care and challenging behaviour?
You will be joining a dedicated team providing high-quality care to both young people and adults with autism and complex needs in the Exeter area.
This role focuses on delivering person-centred support, helping individuals to feel safe, understood, and able to live fulfilling daily lives. You will work as part of a consistent team, following structured support plans with clear guidance and oversight.
What Makes This Role Different
- Structured clinical support
- 2 x 12-hour shifts per week
- Mixture of day and night shifts
- Shifts run from 8am-8pm for days and 8pm-8am for nights
You will work within a well-supported environment with access to clinical guidance and on-call support.

Comprehensive paid training
All training is completed before working independently. We prioritise stability and continuity for both the people we support and our staff. Structured rotas are designed to support work-life balance and consistency.
What You’ll Do
- Autism awareness
- PBS (aligned with best practice)
- De-escalation techniques
- Physical intervention training (where required)
- Consistent team approach
- Predictable working patterns
- Support daily routines and meaningful activities
- Assist with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
- Respond calmly to periods of distress or anxiety
- Follow individual support plans and behaviour strategies
- Complete accurate records and handovers
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and professionals
What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting people with:
- Autism
- Learning disabilities
- Complex care needs
- Paid, voluntary, or personal experience considered
- A calm, patient, and reliable approach
- Good observation and communication skills
- Commitment to providing consistent, high-quality care
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Non-drivers may be considered depending on experience.
