Early Years Teaching Assistant
Start Date: ASAP Location: Tower Hamlets Full-time Salary: £108 – £115 per day, depending on experience
About the role and school
Teach Plus are working with a welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets that is looking for an enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their team.
The successful Early Years Teaching Assistant will work alongside the class teacher to support children with their early development, learning and social skills.The role will involve helping create a positive, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can build confidence and independence.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with young children and understands the importance of play-based learning and strong relationships.
Job Responsibilities
- Support children across the EYFS curriculum
- Assist with play-based and practical learning activities
- Support children’s communication, language and social development
- Encourage independence and confidence
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team
- Provide additional support to children who require it
- Help maintain a safe, engaging and stimulating classroom environment
- Support routines, transitions and classroom organisation
- Build positive relationships with children and families
- Monitor and communicate children’s progress where appropriate
Qualifications/Experience
- Previous experience working within an Early Years or primary setting
- Understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
- Early Years Teaching Assistant or nursery experience desirable
- A patient, nurturing and enthusiastic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to support children with different needs and abilities
- Reliable, proactive and adaptable
- Genuine passion for working with young children
