About us
We are the Project Management Office (PMO), a key function within Project Management supporting the management of Programmes / Projects through the application of project management processes, methods and tools. We analyse, integrate and provide quantitative and qualitative data to support discussions and decision making at Project Management level. We support effective communication and stakeholder management and have a vital operational role all along the complete lifecycle of the Project. The department covers Programme Management best practice, Project Control and Support, Project Cost Control, Integrated Planning, Risk and Opportunity Management, Resource Management and Configuration & Data management. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse PMO having interaction with all areas of the business and exposure to all levels of the management hierarchy as well as engaging with internal and external customers and stakeholders. What you will be doing
- Assisting the PMO and Project Managers (PM) in the development and maintenance for the appropriate business management tools, other relevant methodologies, tools, templates, documentation and reporting to support the successful delivery of projects;
- Supporting the Head of PMO on delivery improvement workstreams and PM digitalisation;
- Maintaining and tailoring processes for Project Management as required by the business and developing / maintaining software tools to support the Business and Information Management Systems;
- Liaising with the PMO, Risk and Integrated Planning Managers to support the implementation of best practice Project and Risk Management across the business;
- Actively working on project plans, issue & change management logs, risk & opportunity registers, project management information & data gathering, milestone tracking & customer and other stakeholder monthly reporting to support the successful delivery of projects.
Requirements
- 2 A levels at C or above AND Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Mathematics and English Language
- An understanding of Project Management methodologies;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Good organisational skills;
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel;
- Proficiency in the use of Google software;
- Experience of using databases is beneficial, but not essential;
Important Information
- GRADES: If you are on predicted grades, your offer will be conditional to achieving the position’s requirements before the apprenticeship start date.
- SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
- RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK: Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work in the United Kingdom for the full duration of the programme.
- LEVY FUNDING: Successful candidates must be eligible for the levy funding. Our apprenticeship roles do not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas & Immigration to enable sponsorship of migrant workers.
