Senior Trailer Freight Operator

Our client is a well-established European trailer operator and Freight forwarder, a market leader in the provision of European logistics services to a large number of very substantial manufacturers, importers and exporters both in the UK and in Europe.

We are now looking for a Senior Freight Operations Coordinator to work at our client’s office in St Albans working Monday to Friday 0800hrs – 1730hrs, 1 Saturday morning every 4 weeks 0830hrs – 1100hrs.

Your role will involve

• Organising the movement of freight across Europe and the UK.
• Communicating accurately in written and verbal form complex instructions to both Customers and Suppliers.
• Negotiating with both Customers and Suppliers to achieve most cost-effective solution.
• Providing the highest standards of Customer service.
• Processing Customer orders through use of the bespoke in-house” operating system with an emphasis on attention to detail.
• Compiling customs documentation to facilitate shipment of our client’s freight into and from Europe.
• Building very strong relationships with our clients, principally through verbal engagement.
• Communicating with colleagues in different departments to ensure internal procedures are followed correctly.

In order to apply for this role,

• Experience in road freight, international transport or logistics
• Excellent communication skills (Written & Verbal)

• Commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate directly with clients and suppliers and identify and exploit opportunities to increase both turnover and more importantly profit.
• Presentable, energetic and enthusiastic.
• Strong organisational skills

Salary and Benefits

• Salary £36,000 to £45,000
