Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire

Salary: £35,000 – £43,000

White Label Recruitment are working with a growing electronics manufacturing business that is looking to recruit a Production Engineer to join its manufacturing team.

The business designs and manufactures bespoke HMI solutions and supplies products into a range of demanding sectors, including marine, medical, defence & aerospace and industrial markets.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Engineer who enjoys working closely with production, solving manufacturing problems and driving continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, supporting NPI and ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards.

The Role

  • Analyse, develop and improve existing production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure a smooth transition from design into manufacture.
  • Identify and resolve production issues through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows and risk assessments.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, Kaizen and 5S.
  • Provide technical support to production teams and act as the engineering liaison on the shop floor.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs relating to quality, throughput and process reliability.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with relevant health, safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with Design, Quality and Maintenance teams to improve processes and equipment performance.
  • Support the ongoing optimisation of manufacturing methods and production efficiency.

The Person

  • Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience with tools such as Lean, Kaizen and 5S.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and analytical approach.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
  • Experience creating manufacturing documentation, work instructions or process specifications.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD would be advantageous.
  • A hands‑on approach and willingness to work closely with the shop floor.
