Credit Controller


Are you an experienced credit control professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and seeing the difference your work makes? Join our friendly Finance team and help keep our business in a strong cash position.


About the Role


Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll be one of a supportive team of three Credit Controllers. Your focus will be on making sure customers pay on time, keeping accounts accurate and up to date, and driving down aged debt.


You’ll work closely with colleagues across Finance, Customer Experience and Operations, as well as directly with customers, to resolve queries and keep accounts clean. It’s a role with real autonomy and variety, and the chance to help shape how our credit control function develops.


What You’ll Be Doing



  • Managing your own portfolio of customer accounts and keeping debtor balances low

  • Building strong relationships with customers to resolve queries quickly and secure payment on time

  • Reducing aged debt through proactive, consistent follow-up

  • Keeping invoices, applications and account information accurate and up to date

  • Carrying out reconciliations and cash allocation, and supporting the finalisation of accounts

  • Suggesting and helping deliver improvements to our credit control processes and systems


What We’re Looking For


Essential



  • Previous credit control experience, or experience in a similar finance role

  • A good understanding of finance processes

  • Proven experience of managing a ledger independently


Desirable



  • Experience within a related industry

  • Studying towards AAT or another finance qualification
