Overview

In this role, you will lead and manage complex banking and finance matters for a forward-thinking law firm, supporting high-value domestic and international transactions. You collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and overseas counsel to execute transactions efficiently while driving strategic growth of the Banking & Finance team. You will develop client relationships, mentor junior lawyers, and contribute to expanding practice areas. This is an opportunity to shape large-scale finance deals and strengthen the firm’s market position in a collaborative culture with a strong client focus. You will work hybrid from Bristol or Exeter and engage with market-leading clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a wide range of complex finance matters (real estate, acquisition, corporate lending, development, project finance)
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on facility agreements, security documents, intercreditor arrangements, loan notes and related documents
  • Advise lenders and borrowers on new lending, refinancings and restructurings
  • Manage transaction workstreams and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
  • Support complex domestic and international transactions, including collaboration with overseas counsel
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and identify opportunities for further collaboration
  • Supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers
  • Contribute to strategic growth areas within the Banking & Finance team

Key requirements

  • At least 7 years’ PQE in banking and finance transactions
  • Strong track record of leading finance matters and managing client relationships
  • Experience in sectors such as Sustainable Economy, Impact Investing, Financial Services, Private Wealth, Real Estate and International work
  • Excellent drafting skills and strong technical expertise
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence communicating at all levels
  • Proactive, commercial and professional approach
  • Ability to develop business networks and contribute to wider team growth
