Overview
In this role you will deliver planned maintenance, reactive and remedial work on mechanical systems across client sites, ensuring safety, reliability and efficiency. You will work with a cross-functional team to maintain records, support projects and sustainability initiatives, and provide excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Perform PPM, reactive and remedial work using electronic maintenance systems and handheld devices
- Maintain, repair and service mechanical equipment for optimal performance and reliability
- Diagnose faults, resolve issues and implement effective solutions
- Provide technical input to projects, upgrades and continuous improvement
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient work
- Maintain digital maintenance records, reports and documentation
- Undertake survey inspections and maintenance in confined spaces and at height where required
- Support winter maintenance activities (gritting and snow clearance)
- Act as Competent Person when required
- Promote sustainability and environmental initiatives across the contract
- Support business continuity plans and operational resilience
Key requirements
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience in facilities management, engineering or building services
- High standard of workmanship and customer service
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet response targets
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and compliance
- Effective communication with colleagues, clients, contractors and stakeholders
- Comfort with mobile technology, handheld devices and digital maintenance systems
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (multi-discipline) or equivalent
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment
- Knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance activities
- Experience in facilities management, commercial or industrial environments
- Understanding of health, safety and statutory compliance requirements
