Overview

In this role you drive practice excellence across Children’s Social Care, using audits and data to identify improvements and raise outcomes for children and families. You will collaborate with the Principal Social Worker team and partners, shaping service development through co-produced insights. The role supports a culture of continuous improvement and strong auditing standards across the service. You contribute to a larger transformation program aimed at a more child-centred, resilient system.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support quality assurance activities and develop improvement plans
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative information to identify trends and opportunities
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partners to design and evaluate improvement initiatives
  • Promote co-production and ensure voices of children, families, practitioners and partners inform service development
  • Coach, mentor and support managers, social workers and auditors to strengthen practice
  • Present audit findings and influence policy to drive continuous improvement across Children’s Social Care

Key requirements

  • Substantial post-qualifying social work experience in children’s social care
  • Qualified and registered Social Worker status
  • Knowledge of legislation, statutory frameworks and best practice in Public Law proceedings
  • Experience of quality assuring assessments, reports and court documentation and giving constructive feedback
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring social workers to improve practice and decision-making
  • Strong analytical, organisational and performance management skills
