Business Development Manager

Overview

In this senior role you drive revenue growth by managing consultant relationships, expanding referral networks, and coordinating cross-service-line opportunities at a leading private hospital. You’ll lead a small BD team, analyze market data, and shape the consultant engagement strategy in collaboration with leadership. Responsibilities

• Grow and retain referrals across all service lines and recruit new consultants
• Shift activity from competitor sites and manage two Business Development Officers
• Analyze market and utilisation data to identify priorities; prepare monthly pipeline reports
• Collaborate with Head of Patient Services, Commercial Director, and Head of Marketing on engagement strategy
• Own issue resolution between consultants and hospital leadership with a clear follow-up protocol
• Facilitate consultant specialty group meetings and drive cross-specialty referral opportunities
• Maintain detailed, accurate CRM records

Key requirements

• Substantial experience in a private/independent hospital setting
• At least five years in business development, sales, or consultant liaison at senior level
• Track record against growth targets; comfortable with utilisation data and referral patterns
• Diploma in Marketing or Management (or equivalent industry experience)
• Familiar with CRM systems; structured market intelligence and pipeline management
• Outstanding interpersonal skills; strong judgement and resilience in a fast-paced, consultant-facing environment
