Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

Join SYSTRA as part of the Commercial / PMO (Client Side) team to professionally manage time, cost, and quality across capital projects. You will support the client-side commercial function, ensuring alignment with lifecycle processes and risk management. You will coach junior team members, lead change control, and monitor EVM/EAC alignment. You’ll identify emerging commercial risks, manage disputes with the client and supply chain, and help maximise client value. This role offers the chance to shape delivery for major transport infrastructure within a collaborative, safety-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce the client-side commercial team to manage time, cost and quality in line with client processes
• Coach and mentor junior team members within the commercial team
• Align EVM and EAC detailing with project needs
• Conduct risk assessments for client and supply chain against funding envelopes
• Oversee change control and erosion trends versus budget
• Identify defects and drive plan close-out through to project close
• Provide commercial reporting and contract deliverables to the client
• Support risk identification, contractual claims and dispute management with Client requirements
• Maintain compliance, notification and tracking of commercial activities
• Support stakeholder relationships and prepare commercial assurance for monthly billing

Key requirements

• Experience in high value civil engineering, building, M&E, rail or infrastructure projects (preferably client-side)
• Management and reporting of client expectations and deliverables
• Minimum of 5 years NEC experience; experience managing change control and related processes
• Knowledge of post-contract commercial services including reporting, payments, variations, claims management and final accounts
• BA Hons / BSc degree in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying (or similar)
• Professionally Chartered Membership to an accredited body (CICES / RICS / CIArb or equivalent) or working towards
