You will drive risk controls, contract performance, and financial discipline while steering complex negotiations with clients and suppliers. You’ll champion continuous improvement and digital transformation within the commercial team and contribute to programme growth. Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial function for a multi-hundred-million to multi-billion programme
- Oversee commercial strategy, governance, risk and compliance
- Manage contract performance, cost control, margin protection and cash flow
- Lead complex commercial negotiations with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement and digital transformation across the function
- Provide commercial leadership on bids, opportunities and growth initiatives
- Build and lead high-performing commercial teams across projects and disciplines
- Develop strategic relationships with customers, supply chain partners and industry stakeholders
- Support programme delivery through robust financial controls and commercial decision-making
- Mentor and develop the next generation of commercial leaders
Key requirements
- Experience with a Tier 1 contractor delivering major construction and infrastructure programmes
- Experience leading commercial teams on large-scale projects valued in hundreds of millions to billions
- Strong background in major building projects, complex structures and infrastructure delivery
- Experience in commercial leadership, contract management and risk management
- Ability to engage and influence executive stakeholders and partners
- Experience managing and developing large commercial teams
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Membership or Fellowship of RICS, CIOB or ICES (or equivalent)
- CSCS Professional Qualified Person Card
- Chartered status preferred
