System Project Lead

Overview

In this role you drive global systems initiatives to support clinical studies and data management for Abbott Diabetes Care. You will bridge business needs with technology solutions across UK and US teams, leading system projects from concept to deployment and driving continuous improvement. You will enable efficient Clinical Affairs workflows, strengthen data management, and support informed decision-making with reporting tools and dashboards. This is a high-visibility role that shapes how scientific activities leverage technology at scale, within a patient-focused healthcare context.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-related projects from concept to deployment, including requirements gathering, solution evaluation, vendor management, and rollout
• Improve Clinical Affairs processes, data management, and cross-functional collaboration across global teams
• Design and optimise systems to support clinical studies and scientific activities while ensuring compliance with privacy, cybersecurity, validation, and regulatory standards
• Develop reporting tools, dashboards, and visualisations to inform business decisions
• Drive adoption of new technologies through training, support, and stakeholder engagement
• Continuously assess process improvements and innovations to meet future business growth

Key requirements

• Experience in project management, business systems, systems implementation, or process improvement
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with project management tools, notably Microsoft Project
• Experience or exposure to regulated industries such as Clinical Research, Medical Devices, Healthcare, Life Sciences (advantageous)
