Principal to Associate Mechanical Engineer – Healthcare (Building Services)

In this role, you lead mechanical design for healthcare projects within a large MEP team in London, shaping delivery across RIBA stages. You guide feasibility studies, supervise detailed designs, and ensure timely, quality output while managing cost-to-complete and project resources. Responsibilities

• Deliver HVAC designs across RIBA stages for complex healthcare projects
• Supervise detailed designs and mentor team members
• Lead feasibility studies and production of discipline specifications and equipment schedules
• Coordinate with project team to clarify appointments, scope, and documents
• Ensure sufficient resources and monitor the design programme and CTC, flagging variances to leadership

Key requirements

• Experience delivering HVAC designs on complex healthcare projects
• Experience managing a design team to meet quality and schedule
• Technical design review experience
• Strong understanding of building regulations and British Standards as applied to MEP
• Experience with RevitMEP or similar 3D design software
• Familiarity with dynamic thermal modelling software (IES)
