Overview

In this role you will join the PMO to deliver accurate cost performance data for a major programme. You will support cost management, forecasting, and earned value analysis to drive informed decisions and robust reporting. You’ll work with Commercial and Finance teams to ensure budgets, accruals, and cost data align with the project baseline. This is a hands-on opportunity to influence project delivery and cost control on a nationally significant project within a collaborative, safety‑conscious culture.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of cost management systems, processes and reporting tools.
  • Monitor and analyse programme cost performance, including Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Support project teams with cost forecasting, EAC, ETC and actual cost reporting.
  • Track costs against approved budgets and cost breakdown structures.
  • Support cost re-baselining, budget updates and forecasting activities.
  • Analyse change requests and ensure cost data is accurately coded and aligned to budgets.
  • Work collaboratively with Commercial and Finance teams to ensure accurate accruals and contract cost reporting.
  • Provide user support and guidance on cost management systems and tools.

Key requirements

  • Experience in cost management within major programmes or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting, cost analysis and Earned Value Management.
  • Experience using cost management systems such as PRISM, EcoSys or Cobra.
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
