Overview

In this role you will lead the site’s People function, partnering with site and leadership teams to deliver first-class HR practices within the Myton Food Group framework. You will shape a local people plan, drive a culture of respect, and coach managers to improve performance and grow talent. You will own ER/IR and payroll processes, manage labour supply and development, and prioritise health and safety. This is a fast-paced, impactful role with a focus on culture change and cost-conscious operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the People and site teams to build a high-performing, trained workforce
  • Define and deliver a site people plan aligned with the group framework
  • Foster a culture of respect and responsive management
  • Coach management and People team to boost performance and grow talent
  • Ensure ER, IR and Payroll processes comply with legal standards
  • Own temporary and permanent labour supply, managing vacancies and candidate experience
  • Drive talent development and succession planning for salaried staff
  • Ensure training remains a leadership priority and right people are in the right roles
  • Prioritise colleague and customer health and safety
  • Identify savings opportunities and work with operations to meet labour budgets and efficiencies

Key requirements

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent HR management experience
  • Experience in fast-paced, agile, demanding environments (ideally manufacturing or logistics)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law
  • Experience handling significant and complex employee relations cases
  • Exposure to unionised environments
  • Ability to coach and influence at all levels
  • Strong communication skills across large groups
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office and HR systems
  • Flexibility with working hours and some travel for site support and projects
