Derivative Support Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead Schroders’ Derivative Services & Oversight team, ensuring effective management, monitoring, and control of derivative operations across asset classes. You will align with business partners and external resource teams to deliver reliable, compliant processes and strong risk controls. You will drive process improvements and oversee escalations, incident handling, and performance against KPIs and SLAs. Responsibilities

• Lead the Derivative Services & Oversight team and manage performance with staff and resource partners
• Oversee daily Derivatives Support operations and handle issue escalations
• Monitor lifecycle events (resets, expiries, credit events, corporate actions) for accuracy and timeliness
• Process bespoke and complex trades/events; review exception reports and escalate as needed
• Ensure robust operational controls to mitigate derivatives risks; perform control testing and risk assessments
• Monitor KPIs/SLAs with outsourced providers; participate in incident management and root-cause analysis
• Contribute to continuous process improvement and automation initiatives
• Ensure all errors are reported and logged in systems

Key requirements

• Strong understanding of OTC and exchange-traded derivatives (swaps, options, forwards, Repo, futures)
• Knowledge of end-to-end derivative trade lifecycle and operational processes
• Familiarity with collateral management, margining, and valuation methodologies
• Awareness of regulations (EMIR, Dodd-Frank, MiFID II)
• Strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities
• Ability to interpret data, reconcile discrepancies, and identify process gaps
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; clear written/verbal communication
• Highly organized with attention to detail; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deliverables
• Proficiency with operational systems (MarkitWire, DTCC) and advanced Excel; knowledge of Aladdin is advantageous
