Overview

In this role you will manage and analyse operational asset data for renewable energy assets, building automated data workflows and dashboards to support performance monitoring and decision-making. You will work closely with operations and engineering to translate complex data into actionable insights, driving asset availability and efficiency. The role combines data processing, SCADA data access, and reporting to enable proactive maintenance and optimization. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement and a pathway to influence asset performance and energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage data from operational energy assets and systems
  • Develop and maintain automated data collection, cleaning, storage, and analysis workflows
  • Monitor asset output, downtime, faults, and production losses
  • Review contractor performance data against KPIs and verify asset performance
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc analyses to identify trends and issues
  • Develop analytical models and automate data workflows using Python and other tools
  • Create clear reports, dashboards, and management information
  • Develop live operational dashboards using data feeds, APIs and automation
  • Document data processes and pipelines clearly
  • Troubleshoot communications and data infrastructure (networks, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Monitor SCADA telemetry and site security data feeds

Key requirements

  • Previously worked as an Asset Data Analyst or in a similar role
  • Experience obtaining information from SCADA systems or industrial platforms
  • Experience cleaning and processing time-series data with Excel, SQL and Python
  • Degree or HND in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or closely related technical discipline
  • Strong engineering approach with ability to interpret SCADA data and identify faults
  • Ability to translate complex data analyses into actionable findings
  • Familiarity with obtaining data via APIs
  • Strong Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Desirable: Power BI dashboards, VPNs/Modbus/OPC UA, cloud storage (AWS/Azure), automated API/data pipelines
