Overview

As Built Environment Asset Support Manager, you provide technical guidance to ensure assets are reliable, safe and compliant with engineering standards. You will support the Asset Management Team to mitigate risks and improve customer experience by maintaining assets to meet TfL’s safety and quality targets. The role involves coordinating risk registers, shaping business cases for funded works, and contributing to audits and governance. You will work across stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant and efficient asset delivery in a complex public-sector environment. This is an opportunity to shape how TfL maintains critical infrastructure while balancing budgets and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and analyse technical information to support the Asset Management Team
  • Implement asset risk mitigations to optimise maintenance
  • Support Safety Improvement Plan and comply with LU standards and governance
  • Contribute to Local Risk Register and Tactical Risk Register with mitigations and budgets
  • Identify and implement asset risk mitigations and raise work orders and budgets in AMS
  • Produce compelling business cases for funded works and data improvements
  • Provide technical support for annual Corrective and Minor Works programs
  • Produce technical information for Built Environment assets and review works proposals for compliance
  • Review BE Works Safety Documentation and deputise for Asset Manager when required

Key requirements

  • Essential: HND/HNC/Foundation Degree in a relevant engineering area
  • Essential: Working knowledge of Built Environment assets and TfL standards/procedures
  • Essential: Ability to analyse data, produce reports and advise senior management
  • Essential: Strong written and verbal communication
  • Essential: Independent working with tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders
  • Desirable: Experience implementing asset management procedures
  • Desirable: Experience with Health, Safety and Environment legislation
  • Strong verbal and written communication
