Data Architect – Asset Management

Overview

In this role you will define how data is organized, governed and used across a global asset manager to support investment and business objectives. You will set standards for data modelling, metadata, lineage and data quality, guiding how data is sourced, stored and consumed. You’ll collaborate across Investment, Business and Technology teams to shape enterprise data architecture and ensure analytics-ready data for AI and decision-making. This is a high-impact position with influence over the data direction and architecture across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise data architecture and target states across domains, data products, and data assets
• Establish standards for data modelling, metadata, lineage, master/reference data and data quality
• Guide data sourcing, integration, storage and consumption for operational and analytical use cases
• Collaborate with delivery, architecture and platform engineering teams to align with governance and strategy
• Identify simplification opportunities to reduce duplication and improve consistency across data landscapes
• Support data governance and ensure data is structured for reliable analytics and AI
• Work with senior stakeholders to align data architecture with business needs

Key requirements

• Significant experience in data architecture within Asset Management
• Strong understanding of investment, client, operational, regulatory, and enterprise data
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake and DBT) including data modelling, transformation, access, cost and workload management
• Experience shaping data architecture with business, architecture and technology teams
• Knowledge of data quality and approaches to improving data trust
• Experience navigating complex data landscapes with a focus on simplification and consistency
• Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills
• Degree educated with a 2.1 or above from a top-tier university
