Senior Fire Protection Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer at AECOM, you will lead fire protection design and calculations for diverse projects, acting as a key contact for clients and project teams. You’ll develop fire safety solutions, surveys, reports, and support day-to-day project management within a consultancy environment. Responsibilities

• Lead FP design on projects and support the lead FP engineer on complex schemes
• Prepare design packages for RIBA stages (drawings, specifications, reports, hydraulic calculations)
• Create Fire Suppression System solutions for varied applications
• Perform sprinkler water supply, gaseous suppression, and related calculations
• Support remote project-delivery teams
• Conduct technical reviews and assist in resolving design issues
• Perform field investigations or inspections
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, authorities, contractors and stakeholders
• Support project managers on projects of varying scale and technical requirements

Key requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication
• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
• Relevant engineering degree
• Experience in consultancy or related industries
• Knowledge of British & International standards and Building Regulations
• Experience with Fire Suppression Systems (Sprinklers, Water Mist, Gaseous Suppression, Risers, Hydrants, Hose Reels, Hypoxic Systems)
• Software proficiency in Word, Excel, CAD, Revit, hydraulic tools
• BPSS clearance is essential
• Evidence of CPD and professional development
• BEng, MEng or working towards it
• Engineering Council registration (CEng/IEng) or working towards it
