Overview

As Head of Data Operations, you’ll anchor the D&I team’s operations, ensuring plans are well defined, resourced, and delivered. You’ll directly manage and develop Analytics Engineers and Analytics Developers while coordinating cross-functional processes with the VP of Data & Insight and other domain leads. Your role combines planning, process improvement, and team leadership to keep a fast-moving data function on track. Responsibilities

  • Own D&I’s operational planning process with properly scoped, resourced projects
  • Translate roadmap priorities into structured plans with owners, timelines and dependencies
  • Monitor milestones, identify risks and coordinate solutions to keep work on track
  • Manage team capacity across Analytics Engineers and Analytics Developers
  • Lead D&I team ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, quarterly planning)
  • Triage and coordinate inbound support requests across the business
  • Represent D&I in Multiverse-wide planning and roadmap processes
  • Maintain and optimize D&I tooling (e.g., Asana, Claude) for visibility
  • Coordinate across D&I to reduce friction and enable high-impact work
  • Identify and implement process improvements and standardisation
  • Develop playbooks and templates to ensure high-quality, low-overhead delivery
  • Track operational metrics (e.g., velocity, throughput) to drive improvements
  • Coach and develop team members through 1:1s and targeted learning
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of Analytics Engineers & Developers
  • Collaborate with Director of Data Engineering, Domain D&I Leads and other stakeholders
  • Engage with Tech and Ops teams to align ways of working

Key requirements

  • 6+ years in data, analytics or technical operations in a fast-moving environment
  • 2+ years directly managing and developing technical teams
  • Proven delivery planning and operational coordination experience
  • Strong experience running team ceremonies and agile processes
  • Experience triaging inbound support across multi-stakeholder environments
  • Experience with roadmap participation and cross-functional coordination
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools (Asana, Jira or similar)
  • Passion for people development and coaching across careers
  • Highly organized with strong prioritisation and attention to detail
  • Clear, confident communicator for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Pragmatic problem-solver for fast-moving, ambiguous contexts
  • Familiarity with modern data tooling and analytics workflows
  • Right to work in the UK and ability to work from Multiverse London office 3+ days/week
