Overview

In this role you will lead Openreach’s view of the UK broadband market, translating complex developments into robust forecasts and actionable insight. You will shape high-profile market forecasts used by senior leadership, investors and analysts, guiding major commercial and investment decisions. Working across Commercial, Strategy, Customer and Finance, you will build and refine forecasting models, assess scenarios and turn uncertainty into evidence-based recommendations. This is a high-impact role at the crossroads of market strategy and analytics, offering visibility and influence across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery of broadband market forecasts and provide a clear view of performance and outlook by driver
• Communicate key assumptions, drivers, risks and opportunities to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment
• Develop and maintain forecasting, scenario and business models assessing market developments and competitor activity
• Lead enhancement of competitor loss modelling capability to quantify impact on Openreach volumes
• Create scenario analyses to evaluate market developments and competitive actions
• Provide evidence-based recommendations to senior leaders to influence decision-making
• Identify and communicate risks, opportunities and sensitivities within the forecast
• Produce materials for Executive, Board and investor discussions with clear messaging
• Continuously improve forecasting approaches, modelling techniques and data sources to boost accuracy

Key requirements

• Proven experience in a commercially focused analytical, forecasting, strategy, business planning or market insight role
• Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to structure ambiguous questions and derive drivers
• High level proficiency in Excel and experience building sophisticated analytical or forecasting models
