Overview

In this role you oversee site-based port and haulage operations for a major logistics project at NZT Redcar. You will coordinate in-country transport, abnormal loads, berthing plans, and loading activities, working closely with port operators, hauliers, and the T&L team. You ensure compliance with HSE standards while optimizing conveyance flows and stakeholder access. This position offers frontline impact on port operations and cross-functional collaboration within a dynamic project environment. You will play a key part in advancing safe, efficient transport amid a complex multi-stakeholder setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage port operations in the UK, including post-carriage and in-country transport for abnormal loads
  • Prepare and maintain transport forecasts
  • Serve as primary interface between port stakeholders, haulage providers and T&L team
  • Coordinate berthing priorities with Construction team and communicate to port operators
  • Oversee vessel berthing plans at Redcar Bulk Terminal and loading activities with port operators, stevedores and hauliers
  • Monitor shipment execution ensuring adherence to HSE and operational standards
  • Supervise operations at MOF and local public port
  • Ensure stakeholder access to berths (clients, contractors, customs, surveyors)
  • Collaborate on improving transport, customs processes and communication flows

Key requirements

  • Proven experience in general and abnormal load transport and port operations
  • Strong knowledge of port planning, UK abnormal load regulations and operational logistics
  • Competence in Incoterms, transport documentation and stevedoring activities
  • Familiarity with the Oil & Gas or Energy sector
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
