Overview

As a commercially driven Business Development Director, you will accelerate growth in the UK by pursuing new logos and building strategic, long-term customer relationships. You’ll target data centre and IT infrastructure segments, opening doors with senior stakeholders and owning the full sales cycle from prospecting to close. The role emphasizes land-and-expand opportunities and cross-functional collaboration to craft compelling, value-driven propositions. You will help shape NSC Global’s UK market presence and partner ecosystem through proactive, market-informed growth.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new-logo acquisition and revenue growth across the UK market
  • Identify target prospective customers in data centre, IT infrastructure, technology and mid-market sectors
  • Develop target-account strategy and identify value-add opportunities
  • Open relationships with C-level, CIO/CTO, IT, infrastructure, procurement and commercial stakeholders
  • Generate opportunities via outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, events and existing relationships
  • Build and manage a strong new-business pipeline through qualification, proposal, negotiation and close
  • Research customer organisations to identify business and operational challenges to address
  • Create commercially focused propositions that demonstrate customer value
  • Own the full sales cycle and convert opportunities into new customers
  • Develop land-and-expand opportunities to build broader NSC relationships
  • Identify opportunities across NSC capabilities including network, infrastructure, field services, managed services, and outsourcing
  • Build relationships with technology partners and industry stakeholders to create new routes to market
  • Lead commercial negotiations and structure value-driven agreements
  • Collaborate with Solutions, Operations, Service Delivery and Executive Leadership to close complex opportunities
  • Maintain understanding of the UK technology market, competitors, customer requirements and opportunities
  • Own new-logo, revenue, margin and pipeline targets
  • Maintain accurate CRM activity, opportunity management, forecasting and reporting

Key requirements

  • Proven track record in winning new business and acquiring new logos in IT services, technology or infrastructure
  • Strong B2B development experience with success generating opportunities from cold or limited relationship bases
  • Experience in data centre, IT infrastructure, networking, managed services or technology services
  • Understanding of UK mid-market/upper mid-market with direct engagement with senior decision-makers
  • Existing relationships across data centre, infrastructure, technology, managed services is advantageous
  • Experience managing full sales cycle from prospecting to close
  • Ability to translate customer technology challenges into commercially compelling solutions
  • Experience selling services (managed, professional, field services, outsourcing) rather than only products
  • Strong commercial acumen in pricing, margins, negotiation and contracts
  • Executive presence with credibility among senior tech and commercial stakeholders
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial, hunter mentality with resilience to generate opportunities
  • Strong pipeline discipline, forecasting and CRM management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management
  • Comfort with autonomous work in a fast-paced growth environment
  • Ability to navigate complex organisations and build multi-stakeholder relationships
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as needed
  • Proven success in new-logo acquisition in UK technology or IT services
  • Experience selling into mid-market, upper mid-market, and/or enterprise
  • Background in SI, MSP, IT services, data centre or infrastructure organizations desirable
  • Strong understanding of data centre and IT infrastructure ecosystem
  • Established network across UK technology, infrastructure, data centre or managed services markets advantageous
  • Track record of delivering revenue through self-generated BD activity
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset
