Overview
In this role you will support the Head of Tax Disputes and Investigations to grow the firm’s contentious tax practice. You will handle a broad spectrum of tax disputes and investigations for diverse clients across private wealth and corporate tax, including international matters. The role offers substantial client contact, responsible file management, and opportunities to contribute to business development and thought leadership. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver practical, commercially-minded advice and high standards of service.

Responsibilities
- Support the senior partners in growing the Tax Disputes and Investigations practice
- Engage in business development activities: articles, client marketing, seminars, conferences
- Handle a wide range of contentious tax matters for high net worth individuals, family businesses, trusts, entrepreneurs and corporates
- Manage own files and a broad case load with good judgment and efficiency
- Draft complex documents with minimal supervision; provide succinct, practical client advice
- Apply commercial judgment in research and delivery of advice
- Contribute to divisional knowledge and know-how initiatives
- Ensure compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations and other regulatory obligations
Key requirements
- Strong technical skills with ideally some tax and/or litigation experience
- Willingness to learn and develop across a broad range of contentious matters
- Ability to manage client relationships and handle substantial responsibility
- Interest in cross-functional collaboration across private client and corporate tax teams
- Good time management and ability to work under pressure
- Strong team player
- Builds rapport with clients
- Flexible and willing to go the extra mile
- Tax and/or litigation experience (preferred)
- MS Office including Excel and Word
