Overview
In this role you lead the Production Team to deliver high-quality homes on budget while upholding rigorous safety standards. You will drive continuous improvement and a customer-centric culture, building sustainable capability in the team to meet current and future needs. As Principal Contractor under the Building Safety Act, you’ll influence safety and quality across the development lifecycle. This is a hands-on leadership role at a large builder with a focus on shaping safe, customer-focused outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a Health & Safety plan for the entire development process from pre-start to site completion across the region
- Ensure compliance with Taylor Wimpey Health and Safety Procedures Manual and communicate policy revisions to site management
- Act as Safety Co-Ordinator for statutory requirements within the region
- Interview consultants, subcontractors and suppliers for competence before engagement
- Coordinate with safety consultants and Director of Health, Safety and Environment to action monthly safety reports
- Conduct periodic safety inspections with site managers during site visits
- Ensure training for site staff aligns with the company training matrix
- Embed a customer-focused culture and drive improvements based on customer feedback
- Manage customer complaints and disputes promptly and effectively
- Operate as part of the Business Unit Senior Management team advising on customer-focused best practices
- Carry out technical feasibility reviews prior to Land Purchase Exercise (LPE) and appraise buildability with Development Department
- Prepare construction programme and participate in pre-planning, pre-tender and pre-start meetings to address construction issues
- Monitor and manage workload, quality and productivity of direct trades
Key requirements
- Thorough understanding of building regulations, construction processes and safety protocols
- Significant experience in managing construction projects, particularly HRBs if relevant
- High integrity, ethical conduct and strong leadership and communication abilities
- Experience in managing people (staff, sub-contractors and suppliers)
