HVAC Technical Support Operative – Shift – Alder Hey Children’s Hospital

Overview

In this role you support the delivery of HVAC maintenance and repair within Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, ensuring safe, compliant environments for patients, visitors and staff. You work as part of the facilities team to handle planned, preventive, and reactive tasks, often collaborating with trade staff and client teams. You will operate HVAC systems and related infrastructure, rising to technical and safety challenges while promoting continuous improvement and high service standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, service and repair HVAC-related components and building fabric at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital
• Assist with routine maintenance, fault finding, repairs and ad hoc small projects in a safe, compliant environment
• First responder to reactive tasks, containing and making safe as required
• Support operation and maintenance across HVAC, BMS systems, mechanical, plumbing and electrical work as needed
• Ensure work orders are completed accurately and signed off in the FM IT system
• Attend toolbox talks and mandatory training, uphold quality, health, safety and environmental policies
• Promote zero-accident culture and build effective relationships with client, staff, suppliers and partners
• Contribute to delivering services in line with contract targets and SLAs
• Liaise with operational teams and client staff to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
