Senior Risk Management Specialist

Overview

In this role you will lead end-to-end risk management across RWE Offshore Operations to protect short- and long-term business plans. You will partner with Operations and subject matter experts to identify, quantify and treat risks, and to develop best practices for risk governance and reporting. You will mentor Risk Management Specialists and guide the wider business on risk concepts and data integrity. This is an opportunity to apply cross-industry risk experience to the offshore wind sector and influence risk decisions at site and director levels.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations teams to identify, quantify and treat risks through regular reviews and ad hoc support for emerging risks
• Coordinate input from subject matter experts across technical, commercial and corporate functions
• Develop and implement best practices for risk identification, quantification, treatment, stress testing and lessons learned
• Maintain risk management data in the risk management tool for analysis and comparison
• Analyze risk data to identify trends, portfolio-wide risks and resource priorities
• Prepare risk reports and coordinate approvals with site GMs and Operational Directors for financial planning and reporting
• Monitor critical risks and treatment milestones, holding risk owners accountable
• Provide peer reviews, coaching and guidance to Risk Management Specialists and wider business

Key requirements

• Completed university degree in economics, business, engineering or a related field
• Several years of relevant professional experience
• Extensive experience in developing and implementing risk management processes, governance and audit activities
• Knowledge of commercial processes, including financial planning and commercial risk management
• High standards of accuracy, quality and follow-through
• Effective stakeholder management and relationship building across departments and regions
• Clear and effective communication across all organizational levels; business-fluent English
