Public Health Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead public health and fire protection design within a multidisciplinary MEP team, delivering sustainable, compliant schemes across diverse sectors. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to coordinate designs, mentor junior staff, and drive projects from concept to delivery. Responsibilities

• Lead public health systems design and calculations on multiple projects
• Mentor and develop junior staff within the discipline
• Coordinate with Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Design Consultants to produce fully integrated designs
• Input to BIM processes (Revit) and support for modelling and coordination
• Ensure technical compliance with statutory/regulatory requirements and QA procedures
• Represent AECOM in client, design team and progress meetings; support tendering and contractor selection
• Manage small multi-disciplinary projects and monitor progress to meet time/budget targets
• Support pre-qualification activities and respond to tender queries

Key requirements

• Previous public health engineering experience in a design consultancy or similar
• Strong knowledge of statutory regulations and approvals processes
• Ability to work independently with good time management
• Experience across mixed-use, residential, commercial and healthcare sectors
• Proficiency in AutoCad for 2D drawings
• Proficiency in Revit and Navisworks (BIM coordination)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Desirable: BPSS clearance and Chartered Engineer status with CIBSE / IET / IMechE (or working towards)
• Qualification: BEng in Engineering (MEng preferred) + CIBSE SoPHE
