Overview

In this role you will oversee asset data, lifecycle planning, and statutory compliance to support safe, compliant facilities management across Mitie’s portfolio. You’ll collaborate with operational teams and contractors to maintain high safety and service standards while driving continuous improvement in compliance and asset performance. You will lead audits, reporting, and training to embed a strong compliance culture. This is a hands-on, cross-functional opportunity to influence asset strategy and delivery at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain asset data in CAFM systems ensuring records are compliant, current, and auditable
  • Advise operational teams on statutory compliance, asset management, and legislative requirements
  • Monitor asset condition and lifecycle requirements; support replacement programmes
  • Assist project teams with lifecycle planning and asset investment reporting
  • Align preventative maintenance with SFG20 standards and support maintenance planning
  • Review and approve updates in Maximo or equivalent CAFM systems
  • Conduct technical and compliance audits; generate reports and recommendations
  • Support health, safety, environmental, and quality management activities across the contract
  • Identify compliance risks and implement corrective actions to improve performance
  • Develop and support compliance training programmes and awareness initiatives
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure third-party suppliers maintain compliance standards
  • Maintain statutory certificates, documentation, and compliance records
  • Provide expert guidance at client meetings, audits, and compliance reviews
  • Foster a strong compliance and safety culture across the contract

Key requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Building Services, Facilities Management, Asset Management, or related environment
  • Experience managing asset data and lifecycle planning programmes
  • Strong understanding of statutory compliance in facilities management
  • Experience conducting compliance, technical, and quality audits
  • Knowledge of accident and incident reporting and investigation processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial awareness with asset change management and record-keeping
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and CAFM systems such as Maximo
  • Experience implementing procedures, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with operational teams and stakeholders
  • Qualification in a relevant M&E, Compliance, Facilities Management, or Health & Safety discipline
  • Knowledge of asbestos, gas safety, electrical safety, fire safety, legionella management
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate (NGC) or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems
