Lead Software Engineer – Industrial Sustainability Reporting Platform

Overview

In this role, you will architect and build scalable, API-first platforms and features across front-end and back-end. You will own reliability, DevOps practices, and production readiness while guiding technical trade-offs. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve sustainability-focused problems at scale, shaping a modular, event-driven architecture. Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and implementation of scalable APIs, services, and accessible UIs
• Deliver AI-native features spanning carbon accounting, ESG data collection, and sustainability planning
• Evolve platform to modular, event-driven, API-first components
• Provide technical direction on scalability, maintainability, performance, and product impact
• Own reliability and operations including telemetry, SLOs, incident response, and continuous improvement
• Champion DevOps practices: CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, and on-call rotations
• Collaborate with Platform Engineers in a lean DevOps model and assume application-level DevOps scope
• Mentor engineers, promote best practices, and raise technical standards
• Ensure code quality, documentation, automated testing, performance, security, and maintainability
• Own the quality of deliverables through test automation and production readiness
• Partner with Product Management, Design, AI, Platform Engineering and other teams on discovery, trade-offs, and delivery
• Apply a product- and customer-led mindset to solving pain points with scalable engineering solutions
• Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve architecture and ways of working

Key requirements

• Strong full-stack software engineering experience across front-end and back-end
• Solid experience with modern front-end technologies, notably React or similar
• Back-end experience, ideally GoLang or equivalent
• Experience designing and building scalable APIs and cloud-native applications
• Strong DevOps understanding: CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, automation, incident response
• Experience delivering secure, observable, high-quality production software
• Focus on code quality, automated testing, documentation, performance, and maintainability
• Ability to lead technical design discussions and influence architectural decisions
• Effective cross-team collaboration and communication
